Irfan Junaidi, Editor-in-Chief of Indonesia's Antara News Agency, has stressed the significant role the media plays in highlighting the experiences and challenges faced by developing countries, and believes that enhanced media cooperation will help to better reflect the interests and amplify the voices of nations across the Global South.

Junaidi was speaking in a video message delivered for the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF), which will be held on November 6 in the ancient city of Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province under the theme "Building Consensus for Shared Benefits: Media's Role in Global Governance."

The Global South Media Partners Mechanism aims to deepen collaboration among media outlets of the Global South, encouraging practical cooperation, content sharing, professional training and joint productions, as well as fostering dialogue and research among participating media partners.

The VMF is an annual professional journalism forum launched by the CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) in 2011, focusing on the latest video content communication and innovation trends, and providing a highly specialized and interactive platform for domestic and foreign media peers.
