Faried Pierkhan, CEO of the Rapar Broadcasting Network of Surinam, has hailed the establishment of the Global South Media Partners Mechanism as a significant step in strengthening the collective discourse power of the Global South and advancing fairness and justice in the field of international communication.
Pierkhan was speaking in a video message for the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF), which will be held on November 6 in the ancient city of Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province under the theme "Building Consensus for Shared Benefits: Media's Role in Global Governance."
In his video message, Pierkhan also expressed willingness to work with fellow media institutions through the Global South Media Partners Mechanism, to ensure the shared stories, culture and voices of the Global South are represented with authenticity and equality on the world stage.
The new mechanism aims to deepen collaboration among media outlets of the Global South, encouraging practical cooperation, content sharing, professional training and joint productions, as well as fostering dialogue and research among participating media partners.
The VMF is an annual professional journalism forum launched by the CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) in 2011, focusing on the latest video content communication and innovation trends, and providing a highly specialized and interactive platform for domestic and foreign media peers.
