Gregoire Ndjaka, CEO of the African Union of Broadcasting (ABU), has highlighted the vital role the new Global South Media Partners Mechanism can play in strengthening the voice and influence of the Global South in international communication and in promoting equity, justice and diversity in global storytelling.

Ndjaka was speaking in a video message delivered for the Global South Media Partners Mechanism Inauguration Meeting and the 13th Global Video Media Forum (VMF), which will be held on November 6 in the ancient city of Xi'an in northwest China's Shaanxi Province under the theme "Building Consensus for Shared Benefits: Media's Role in Global Governance."

The Global South Media Partners Mechanism aims to deepen collaboration among media outlets of the Global South, encouraging practical cooperation, content sharing, professional training and joint productions, as well as fostering dialogue and research among participating media partners.

The VMF is an annual professional journalism forum launched by the CCTV Video News Agency (CCTV+) in 2011, focusing on the latest video content communication and innovation trends, and providing a highly specialized and interactive platform for domestic and foreign media peers.
